Beautiful sandy beaches next to beautiful Sea Gardens at the steps of a modern cosmopolitan city. Friendly people, fantastic food at some of the cheapest prices in Europe and a rich history going all the way back to when the Greek’s named it Odessa and beyond.

In recent years three large Malls have open. The newest and biggest of which is Delta Planet Mall, boasting a massive selection of shops, a giant food court and state of the art cinema complex Mall. A little closer to the center is Grand Mall which is still very large but also has an Imax Cinema. None of the malls have the charm of varna’s actual pedestrianised center which opens up onto the Sea gardens with many open air restaurants and café bars. When it comes to dining, Varna’s culinary scene is a delight, offering a fusion of traditional Bulgarian dishes and international cuisines. Bulgaria also produces fantastic wine many of which are not available outside the Country.  I’d recommend any that are from Varna Winery as this is small Vineyard close to the Albena Resort. The national drink is Rakia which is typically 45% plum Brandy usually drank with the traditional Shopska salad at the beginning of a meal. But it’s not for the faint hearted!

Varna is easily accessible by air, with Varna International Airport serving as the main gateway to the city. Boasting flights from most major UK airports either Wizz Air or Balkan Holidays. If travelling from the US you would either fly to Sofia and the get a direct flight in to Varna or travel to an international Hub elsewhere in Europe that connects direct to Varna. Additionally, train and bus services connect Varna to other major cities in Bulgaria and neighboring countries.
